Soul Mates - what are they?
We hear this term so often nowadays and it is always used the same way, to mean finding a lover or romantic partner. People talk about soul mates as if that is the only meaning and they are obviously taking just the second half of the word - mates - and using that when giving it a meaning. But what exactly is a soul mate? A soul mate is the person who will give you the most important lesson in your current life, the main reason for which you are both here hingeing on this meeting taking place and this meeting is pre destined and cannot be avoided. It can however be overlooked or it's importance ignored or misunderstood in one's quest to find a lover. This soul mate may or may not be a lover, but it could just as likely be anyone else such as a family member, teacher, friend or acquaintance. You may have a romantic encounter with your soul mate, but you may just as likely have a platonic relationship with them instead. The important thing is that they are here to bring you the most important lesson or opportunity of your current life. You may even not like them very much, you may not like the lesson and opportunity they bring and you may cut them from your life and continue searching for the elusive 'soul mate' you think of as a lover. There is another school of thought that says that your true soul mate is another part of your own soul and that it is only a part of your entire soul that incarnates at any one time, so that your soul mate is another part of you and so makes you more complete. When thinking of finding your soul mate, don't be misled into thinking you're looking for a lover, you may be, but you might just as easily not be. Let's use the term correctly huh?
